Welcome to Muray Middle School!
A little "History" about me:
I grew up in Madison, WI and am the middle of three sisters. I have been a swimmer my entire life; throughout grade school, high school and even into college. Being involved in sports has really helped me develop life-long skills: perseverance, dedication, goal setting, and positive self-esteem. I coached a high school swim team in St. Paul for three years and loved (nearly) every minute I spent on deck with students.
I graduated from Maclaester College and earned my Master’s in Social Studies Education from the University of Minnesota by making a movie. Talk about cool!
Contrary to popular belief, I would NOT choose to meet Michael Phelps if I had the chance. Abraham Lincoln or John Lennon would be way more interesting to share a Latte with.
In my spare time, I (of course) swim, run, train for triathlons, read, hike, TRAVEL attempt to be crafty, and do adventurous things I can tell my grandchildren about when I am old. And of course, I spend time with my husband and 3 daughters.
I have known I wanted to be a teacher since I was in the 9th grade and taught swimming lessons all throughout high school and college. I guess you can say I was born to be a teacher. I have taught at different middle and high schools in St. Paul for over 15 years. I chose to join the staff at Murray because this is the best middle school in St. Paul for students and families.
