My name is Diana Morton and I am proud to be a part of the Highland Park administrative staff. We are looking forward to a fantastic school year. I work predominantly with staff, Professional Learning Communities, professional development, Title One, AVID, and our Equity Team. Go Scots!
I have worked with the Saint Paul Public Schools since 1994 in a variety of positions. I've taught social studies, coordinated the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program, served as curriculum coordinator, coached athletics, facilitated the implementation of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), and interned with administration at both Highland Park and Harding high schools.
I was born and raised in Iowa and spent some time living on the West Coast before moving to Minnesota. I earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa, a master's degree and an administrative license from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. I also completed the Institute for Courageous Principal Leadership at Minnesota State University. I am currently enrolled in a class called Developing Intercultural Competence.
In my free time I enjoy exercising, traveling, gardening, reading, and spending time with my dog and cat, Spike & Jax.
Little known fact about me: I was a DJ at KRUI 97.1 FM in college.
Widely known fact about me: I may be bribed with diet Coke and quality chocolates!
